BEEFY BRAVEHEART
Macho Mel Gibson has gone from hunky to chunky. The Braveheart star is carring around a new lethal
weapon these days_-a big, bulging belly-as this revealing photo shows.
STAR caught up with Mel, 45, after he had
coffee (and probably some doughnuts too) at a Malibu diner with friends, while wife Robyn and sons Edward, 19, and Tommy,
2, went shopping.
But don't worry about Mel going to pot with a potbelly. The actor packed 30 pounds on his 5-foot-8
frame and ballooned to 190 pounds for his new film We Were Soldiers. He plays Lt. Col. Harold Moore in the story of the first
bloody battle of the Vietnam War.
Unfortunately, Mel's war won't end when the movie does. His next fight will be
the battle of the bulge. And at his age, losing 30 pounds could be as painful as some of his battles in Braveheart.
